ivybgreenflower: The Beatles (late period), surrounded by green plants and red flowers (Default)

I decided to...

Name some useless facts about myself that no one knows or would have guessed.

The first two are really unknown. You'd never, ever guess, especially the first one.
1. I like to sing. I like to sing pretty loudly. But! I hate the sound of my voice, so I turn the record player's volume up to full blast and make the speakers/doors rattle so I can sing as loudly as I want. I get headaches from this and I don't care.
2. I also like to dance. A lot. I get all sweaty and tired and achy and sometimes this contributes to said headaches. I still don't care.
3. I like music other than the Beatles. Shhhh, don't tell. By this I mean, mainly, Echo and the Bunnymen and the Cardigans, but I like Mary Hopkin (she sings the song "Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end... thooosee weeeerrrreeee theee daaaaaayyyyssss", which was written by- surprise!- Paul McCartney.) and I also like a lot of other sixties bands, except the Stones. (They need to die. A few of them almost did several times, but because of the amount of money they have, they were unfairly saved. One of them really did die, and he was found floating in his pool. He overdosed on barbituates and liquor. This makes me sad. Don't ask how I know this. I think this one is Brian Jones, but I can't remember. I only know Jagger was mean to him before he died. I bet he feels bad now. ha. This was in the sixties, btw.) I occasionally like the Pretenders, and sometimes Cyndi Lauper. Sometimes. And sometimes the 80s station is ok. But, as I said, shhhhh don't tell.
4. I inexplicably hate the color blue. I don't know why. It annoys me. I don't wear much blue because of this.
5. I have such a low tolerance for caffeine that two small glasses filled with ice of Coca-Cola cause me to stay awake all night, with no sleep at all.
6. I have never taken an aspirin in my life. I took Tylenol Arthritis for my broken tailbone, and the first time I took it I shook a lot because my body was so not used to any kind of pain medication.
7. I have a high threshold for pain. Hence, my reluctance to take pain medication. But you wouldn't know it for all my bitching.
8. I have gotten three colds in my entire life. That's it. Only three. I swear to you. One of them, Jessica gave me and I have never forgiven her.
9. I have been to New York around 5 times, but I only remember two of them. However, when I was 18 months old we visited my grandparents, and I remember the front garden and the washing machine. I also remember a toy store where I got a kaleidescope. I think I still have it somewhere. Don't ask how I remember; I just do.
10. I remember more from preschool than I do from kindergarten. Or, for some reason, 7th grade. I can't remember crap from 7th grade. Like it never existed.
11. The amount of friends I have comes in waves. Sometimes I have a dozen, sometimes, only four. I don't know why.
12. I'm white. (Trust me. No one knows. People are retarded.)
13. I'm very, very fond of my mother's family, but not really of my father's family. I don't know why.
14. I have gone two days before without seeing my father, while he lived (and still does) in the same house that I do, and was not away on buisness. We just managed to miss each other. I don't know how. My house(s) are small.
15. However, I have never gone more than a day without seeing my mother. Ever. In my life.
Never.
16. Both sets of my grandparents moved because I was born.
17. I can bake very well.
18. However, I am scared of the oven, microwave (a little...) hair dryer, and toaster. Thus making baking very hard to do without help.
19. I own an excess of a dozen necklaces that I don't wear and should.
20. Once, I had a phase where all I'd ever give people was necklaces. I got tired of necklaces, however, so I stopped.
21. I used to be paranoid to the point of tears if I wasn't wearing a necklace. Now, I just leave one on 24 hours a day and I don't worry so much.
22. I'm good at draw poker. I've never lost to my father, and he went to poker school. (long story.)
23. I like plaid and paisley.
24. I like to watch old cartoons.
25. I live in the past. Not just the 60s, but the early 90s. I don't like to think about the future. I like to think about the past. I tend to repeat myself because of this.
26. I like to reread books starting in random places so much that in most of my books, I can open to any page and know what's going on, what just happened, and sometimes even the line on the next page.
27. I actually finished reading The Two Towers.
28. I like to write short stories. So much so, that I am constantly telling myself stories or singing songs in my head. If you broke into my head you'd either hear "Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end-" or "And then Tony said, "Baby girl, you're crazy." And Julia replied, "Yes, but I'm the one with the spork, so I'd watch what I say." Tony was considerably subdued after this.
29. Usually, I name my main male characters John. I did this before my uncle John was killed and before I fell in love with John Lennon. I just really like the name John.
30. I have no tolerance for salt. I don't like it, and I can always tell when it's in something. I drink low-sodium v-8 which tastes completely different from regular, but I like it.
31. I can, however, tolerate high levels of spicyNess in foods. Sometimes, foods are very, very spicy and I can't tell. It's weird.
32. I am perpetually cold, for no reason. My blood is fine. I have enough blood cells and iron. I'm just cold.
33. My average body temperature is 97.4ish. Which explains the whole cold thing, but now I'm wondering why my body temperature is so low. This is annoying when people don't know it and don't believe that 99.1 degrees is really a fever.
34. I know that Karen Tong, Linda Wong, and Viven Chow sang the Cantonese Sailor Moon theme song. Don't ask why.
35. I've never unintentionally mismatched my socks or shoes. Never. Only have I intentionally mismatched them, which I do a lot. The reaction is funny; people doubt their own sanity for about 30 seconds before they ask. Either that or they think I don't know, and are befuddled to find out that I do know. I like it when either of these scenarios happen.
36. There are 35 little known useless facts about me that I can think of. Ta da!
edit: In keeping with the left-handed tradition, Leonardo da Vinci was also left-handed. Hee. [/edit]

Yea yea, me too. Only, I really only sing in my dad's car when he has This Celluloid Dream or The Great Disappointment turned up all the way and he's singing along too. I hate my siging voice. *erlack*

You like 80s music? *falls over* YOU ALWAYS DISS THEY 80's! And for this you must sufferrrrrrrr

"12. I'm white"
No you are not!!!!! You are a hispanic japanese chick.

"15. However, I have never gone more than a day without seeing my mother. Ever. In my life.
Never."
yes, I do believe you have. The beginning of summer after 8th grade. you spent the night at my house 2 nights (or so) in a row. Your dad came to give you clothes, I don't think you ever saw your mom.

"18. However, I am scared of the oven, microwave (a little...) hair dryer, and toaster. Thus making baking very hard to do without help."
Even though hair dryers have nothing to do with baking...I don't blame you for fearing it. Your hair is so long that your hair might get caught in the hair dryer...that happened to me once...

"23. I like plaid and paisley."
Plaid...good stuff. i had plaid pants once...Paisley...like those scary shirts from the 70's?

"30. I have no tolerance for salt. I don't like it, and I can always tell when it's in something. I drink low-sodium v-8 which tastes completely different from regular, but I like it."
You eat chips alot...how can you say you have a low tolerance for salt?

You can bake well? I can't. I suck, and last time I baked, the bottom would bake properly, and so it was all watery...and it turned out I'm not supposed to add the syrup that the canned blueberries come in. *whumps head on table* I so suck...anyway, Thanks for being so sweet and putting me on the thanks comment thing. I'm glad I made you feel special...or the other options that were there. I'm a bit odd, as you'll find out as I write more and more in my journal. Lol.
I love that song...the one about the people singing about the old days. It was in my karaoke machine, and I sang it alot when i was 5 (Again, I'm odd.) and it was a cool song. Oooo....I have the urge to sing, cover your ears!
