I forgot to say in the squee post, but RIP Nodar Kumaritashvili. There's no good time to die, but right before you get your big chance on the world stage has got to be among the very worst.

He's also a year and a day younger than me, which freaks me right the hell out.

And also makes me feel pretty lame, because I'm never going to the Olympics.

You'll never go to the Olympics but at least you probably won't die young in a horrific sporting accident. I would prefer not going to the Olympics over that.

Really though that is just so... like GUH. D: I've been sad over it all day. I mean how horrible.

Yeah, that is true. I'd rather live long and lazy than short and crazy. ...I just made that up now but it's going to be my life's motto.

It's so tragic, though... he wasn't even doing anything stupid. He didn't drink and drive or do drugs or show off in his car or anything... he was being athletic. His poor family and teammates :(

My heart just like broke when I heard about it. It was just so tragic. I mean, we know that the luge is a dangerous sport, but he was so young! And he was representing a country that hadn't sent many athletes to the winter games.

He was just trying to be his best and do right by his country :( It's so sad.
