I think by the time the next smartest animal evolved to our level, all of the evidence of our successes and failures would be long gone, besides maybe a few token artifacts buried in the ground, or something. So I doubt they'd be able to learn anything. Besides, if they were anything like us, they wouldn't pay any attention to history and keep making mistakes. ;)
