I wrote my end scene last night (technically six o'clock this morning.) The last word will be "home". And it totally gave me a revelation about what this book is REALLY about and... it just felt so perfect. I am in love with my story and I'm disappointed that I don't get to find out what happens next until I write it myself. I mean, I know what happens, because you have to know that to be a good writer, but it's getting there, and the bits in between the plot points. And just... writing the book I always wanted when I was younger.
And I wrote it on paper. And I had to stop after every line and readjust my fingers because my nails keep digging into my hand.

And now I have to transcribe five full handwritten pages, bleck. Plus another page for another part of the story.
All while dealing with intense self-doubt. I know this book is going to suck hardcore. Right now I just want to finish it and then later we'll talk about de-suckifying it.

Heh, this came out all WOE MY LIFE IS SO HARD, but really, my life is not hard. There are worse things than... your nails poking you and having to TYPE, OH THE HORRORS.

So... gonna work on that some more now. Kbye.

Why do you say your story will suck?
Do you plan to do something with it after you've finished writing it?

(My nails dig into my hands whenever I'm in writing mode)

I tend to make a lot of mistakes that, like, fanfiction writers make, like being overly descriptive about things that aren't important and... other mistakes like that. Plus I think most writers have that OMG I SUCKKK attack at least once when they're writing something.
I guess I'll try to publish it, but not without doing MASSIVE editing on my own first.

A literary agent, probably. Everyone from J.K. Rowling on downwards says you have a much better chance of getting people to take you seriously if you have one, and a much better chance of eventually getting published. And probably an intellectual property lawyer, my father knows one.

Have you ever thought of joining National Novel Writing Month? I think it's over already, but I know that if you get the required number of words they will "publish" your book. I know they print it and bind it at least. Dasher did it one year and her was printed. That way you can at least have a paper version.

That's in November, actually... I've considered doing it before, but since I've barely gotten the required 50,000 words since May and you have to do that in one month, I don't think my sanity would hold out... maybe next year I'll try it out with a different story, though.
