Entertainment News
Just in case you're interested, the WGA strike has caused several shows that ran out of stockpiled scripts to cease production already. The shows produced will last for a few weeks, but some people are predicting that we'll be out of "the good stuff" by Christmas.
Also, the Spice Girls Greatest Hits CD is available now.
Lastly, the Beatles' Help! DVD is also available now. Guess what I'm getting for my birthday WHICH IS IN SEVENTEEN DAYS WHAT THE HELL HOLY GOD ASKDKSKSK?
My almostAunt and cousin are coming down from New York for Thanksgiving/my birthday this year. (I call her my almostAunt because she never got the chance to marry my uncle before he was killed, but they were engaged and after his death she legally changed her last name to his, and she's also my cousin's mother, so she's my aunt as far as I'm concerned.)
One problem with this is that my cousin is five years old, and a five-year-old at a 20-year-old's birthday happenings isn't quite compatible. There was a Paul McCartney tribute concert I had been thinking about going to, but now I guess we can find something better to do. Maybe we'll go and see Enchanted, the newest Disney princess movie, but I don't know if he cares about princesses or really anything Disney. He's a little boy, and he likes cars and dinosaurs (mostly cars though.) I mean, I really don't have a problem with postponing a more "adult" party until the week after my birthday, but the Paul McCartney thing's playing only on my birthday and I don't think my father can take off two Saturdays in a row, especially considering the fact that he's going to be taking a bunch of Wednesdays off in December and January to attend some class for something or other, and he took off an unprecedented week recently because he got sick. So we'll probably just have cake and lasagna or something for my birthday (sigh) and then do something after. If we don't, I'll probably cry, because my parents, even when they were super poor, always made a big deal about my birthday (even last year when I only got one present). I don't want that to stop just because I'm old. I don't need decorations or fancy presents, just a chance to spend time with my parents, especially now that I can actually understand them on a new level. I really enjoy my parents both as parents and as people and I don't want to miss out on a chance to have fun with them. I'm really lucky that they're so awesome to me.
If my cousin was a girl I'd totally just have a princess party and wear my blue Homecoming dress and my Hannah Montana wig and we could play dress up and get one of those cakes with the Barbie in it (I've always wanted one) and it would be much of the awesome. Maybe I'll still schedule a day for myself to play princess while no one is looking. ;)
Anyway, hope everyone else has something to look forward to for Thanksgiving, especially Bianca.
