Barbie :(

One of my favorite Barbie's heads came off last night. I've had her for as long as I can remember. Anyone have any tips on how I can put her head back on? Besides supergluing it on and making her all no-necky?

I know this may sound strange but I do know how to take off doll heads and replace them. I have done it hundreds of times. I did doll makeovers in the past and would reroot the hair. To do so you have to take off the head.So now that you have the head off we'll get it back on.

If the little plug that goes into the dolls head is still on her neck this will be easier but you can still do it if it came off.
First if you have the plug on the neck all you have to do is heat up the head with a blow dryer until the vinyl is soft. I try to do 10 to 15 seconds at a time. Keep fingers out of the way of the blow dryer by wrapping the head in a small wash cloth leaving the neck opening free to the heat. It this doesn't take very long and don't get the dryer too close to the hair as the Krylon hair can melt. You don't want that or I'd have to teach you to reroot the head.LOL! Pop the head right back on the plug. It should go on very easy.

If the plug came off into the head, heat up the vinyl same way with a blow dryer and pull out the plug with tweezers when the vinyl is soft and replace it back on the neck joint and then onto the head.

Now if it broke off all together you can go here http://www.restoredoll.com/repair-neck-hip.htm

and order the part to replace the neck joint. It's a great place that I've used over and over and they have great service. Plus they have instructions on their site for fixing the head with the part.

Good Luck, Christina
