A big ol' WTF

I have a big entry about the suckiness of SHS to type up later, but for now, I have a mystery to solve.

I was looking in My Computer to see how much disc space I'd used, and I got to wondering, just what IS in the D drive, anyway? So I decided to peek in and see.
Some computery stuff, okay, that's normal... wtf, "My Documents"? As far back as I can remember, that's always been on the C drive. So I decided to look in and see.
Prepare to WTF.
There are 354 files dated to around 1997-1999. That's okay, except there are about five Excel files filled with phone numbers, credit card information, and... a chemistry lab. Actually, several, but this is only one of them.

BLEACH PART A 1 liter Remark
Amonium Thiosulfate 60% 800 ml
Amonium or sodium thiocyanate 50 grms 100 cc solution
Potasium iodide 5 grms
Water to make 1 liter

BLEACH PART B 1 liter
Water 700 ml
EDTA fe 13% 200 grms
EDTA na4 20 grms
Ammonia 60 ml
Water to make 1 liter

There's one folder, a desktop.ini file, a file that turns out to be a shortcut back to My Computer... and the other 340+ are all letters or poems.
The "author" is Salah Batrawi, but google says she/he doesn't exist.
The letters seem to all concern the same large group of people. I've only read a few, but everyone loves this one chick Maxine.

December 1975 A Christmas Card

It’s nice to remember good friends in December….
Bless you, Maxine---even if it’s not Christmas, it always felt that way when you were around. Say hello to Warren and your mom, the Fewkes, your girls, and God Bless Philip, he is in heaven now.

Love, Al (Jacomini)

The ones that aren't letters or combination credit card info-chem lab write-ups are poems. This one's my favorite so far:

CAMERA OBSCURA

A glance askance:
A shadow in the
Corner of your eye.
Take one breath,
For what you have just seen is death.

Alarick Nyman, Jr.

Written just a few months before he died, in 1975

I don't have any idea who Ann Sheridan, Maxine, Al, Salah Batrawi, or any of the other people mentioned in these files are, and neither does my mother. My computer was originally formatted by Bob's doctor (remember him?) but around 2001 my computer was completely wiped, and since then has been used exclusively by my mother, father, and I (and random friends like Jackie and Bianca on rare occasions.) I'll keep you updated.
