General, not-too-spoilery thoughts:
-I have realized that crying while reading a book is not weird, if it occurs when someone has said something particularly poignant and deeply, personally meaningful. My favorite line, ever, in the history of all written words, is on page 77, American Hardcover. See if you can spot it.
-I have never been a prouder 'shipper. Everyone was just so lovely in this book, and JKR made things abundantly clear about which ships the canon sails. Not that it will change things with the most die-hard of shippers, but... it's a start. *grins broadly*
-I have never in my life been so greatly appreciative of how death affects people before.
-The last few bits of the book suddenly turned very... fanficish. It was as though someone else took over the writing and made everything they wanted to happen, happen. Not the sad part, I mean, but other bits- just things the characters did and said. Everyone was a bit out of character, and rather than make JKR look stupid, it made her look absolutely brilliant: by showing that people are not just stereotypes of themselves, that people CAN step outside of what we expect from them, it makes her characters become so much more real than any other book character could ever, ever be. People are NOT two-dimensional, and she makes this VERY clear.
-Marietta Edgecombe needs to take a few private lessons in how to apply foundation from me. :)
-I want to hug Harry. He was fantastic.
-I love Fawkes as much as I love my real bird, Petey.
-Seriously, it deserves repitition: HARRY WAS FANTASTIC. I mean, the way he did everything was just so much better than in previous years; yes, he did VERY stupid things, but the way he thought them out and the way he reacted more than made up for it.
-Nitwit, blubber, oddment, tweak. Okay? Got that? Good. Hold on to that.
-There were so many absolutely touching moments in this book that it made everyone seem, again, so very human. Vulnerable and strong at the same time, an excellent combination.
-I'm tired.
-Love the Lupin. Loooove him. Please-kay-thanks.
-The world isn't split into good people and Death Eaters. Hold on to that, too.
-If I have to wait more than a week for the next book, I will stab myself with the tip of my book. I'm sure you all agree.

She says it is a highly emotional book especially towards the end.
Better put the book away so you don't hurt yourself, because I'm sure it's going to be at least a year and a half or two before the last one is out.
Until then I'm sure people will be coming up with lots of theories about book 7.
I've been waiting over a year for the next Sopranos episodes, and still have at least 9 months until the next season. I can see it taking a couple of years to write a book, but I don't know why so long for a tv series?
Two years is a long time to wait for a 12 week tv series. But it is always worth the wait!
I'm sure the last book will be worth the wait as well.

It IS highly emotional. There are loads of really emotional bits in it. And the end? Forget it, I just LOST it over the end. :)
*sighs* I suppose I will have to put my book away, because she's said it'll take two years.
What on EARTH is taking those people so long???? But yes... I suppose these things really are worth the wait. Any anyway, the wait is half the fun. The anticipation is one of the best parts of fandom. :)
