Huck Finn
Here's the thing. I'm supposed to be working on a research paper for it but.... dude..... I can't think of a thing to write.
Should Huck Finn be taught to 11th graders? Well, no. Why? Because I don't like it. Seriously though? I'm gonna make it up.
Huck Finn deals with things like right and wrong. Everyone, at some point or another, has felt the difficulty in choosing between the two. In this way, the audience learns how sometimes morality isn't black and white, it has many shades of gray, and the key to making the right choice is recognizing this fact.
Huck Finn provides insight into the minds of people from a time very different from today. It shows a time where slavery was considered commonplace, and breaks the mindset that every slaveholder was completely evil. Slave owners were normal people in most respects, such as caring for and about their children.
However, it shows how little intelligence the slaves and their owners had. At times the language used by the characters is so colloquial and perverted that it is hardly readable. It portrays a time where school and education were secondary in importance to working hard to earn money.
-slaves were so poorly educated it was a crime
-Huck Finn exposes evils of slavery with "first-hand accounts" but doesn't outright SAY that slavery is bad- it lets the audience think about it for itself. er, come to the conclusion itself. WHATEVER, I hate formal writing.
The word nigger
oh lord, I will write oh so much about this.
I am tired of it now, goodnight.

scelestious
[si-LESS-chus] a rare adjective meaning 'wicked'. Another form is scelestic. They both come from a Latin word with the same meaning.
