Ebony and Ivory

K, so I'm sorry about that song I got stuck in your heads. I assure you, nothing is more ironic than using a lovely happy Christmas song written by one of the world's weirdest humanitarians and vegetarians who was married to a lovely vegetarian humanitarian at the time of the song's writing (at least, I think so; I don't actually own that song on cd or on record, so I know nothing about it) on one of the most happy and lovely days of the year for evil purposes. Forgive me, though; as I've been jaded by the commercialism of the season and the thorough lack of enthusiasm from my family; as my father works on Christmas, we had onion rings, chicken cutlets, and French fries for our Christmas dinner. The adults had cranberry sauce, you know, that can-shaped lump of cranberries and gelatin and who knows what else that people typically serve on holidays. Christmas eve- ah, now that was different. The only major holiday of the year that my father's workplace closes for (he works for a casino on an Indian reservation... thing) is Christmas Eve. Why? I don't know. But he was home, so my grandmother cooked up a whole crapload of food I don't eat but I'm told was quite good. In a fit of desperation I was left to find something to eat that was not fish, so I had leftover tomato sauce and some maccaroni. It was nice. For once, no one was yelling, which was a lovely change, and we all had a lovely time, the end.

Of course, back to the song. I'm truly sorry of it continues to plague you after the holidays are over and it stays with you all year, year after year, until you want to beat Paul McCartney in his... Christmastime.
For those of you who are slowly going insane because you only know a few lines, let me provide you with the whole song, mercifully under an lj-cut for those of you who are blissfully clueless as to what I am talking about. DO NOT click on this lj-cut unless you need its services, because I'm telling you, if the song whose name we will not mention is not currently stuck in your heads, it will be soon.

I warned you.

There's still time to escape, you know.

Not my fault if you die of hate.

earworms kill, dears.

The moon is right
The spirits up
We're here tonight
And that's enough
Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime

The party's on
The feelin's here
That only comes
This time of year

Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime

The choir of children sing their song
Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding Ohhhh
Ohhhhhhh

Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime

The word is out
About the town
To lift a glass
Ahhh don't look down

Simply having a wonderful christmastime

The choir of children sing their song
They practiced all year long
Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding dong x2

The party's on
The spirits up
We're here tonight
And that's enough

Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime

The moon is right
The spirits up
We're here tonight
Ahh that's enough

Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime

Ohhhhhhhhh
Christmastime

Safe to look now.

I've been reading my new books. I've finished Fantastic Beasts, Quidditch TTA, and the first two LS books. I know. I'm a fast reader. It's a gift. :)

I'm not reading them. They'll only make it worse.

Your father works in a casino?
That just screams mafia.

Terror from my business card.
