A few updates
This is my 500th journal entry on lj. Five hundred!
Rock on!
K so last night we went to see the Lemony Snicket movie, which was absolutely wonderful. I'm quite sure I liked it so much because I've never read the books. I do plan to, of course. I'm glad I saw the movie first; far from ruining my own image of the books, it will simply be a happy, LS-related memory for me to add to what will probably become a large storage area full of LS memories in my brain. I'm good like that; I don't mind watching movies based off of books because I always keep the image in my mind firmly in place no matter how many times I see the movie (or how good it is.) And, watching the movie made me want to read the books more, since I'd wanted to before but was too lazy to find someone to borrow them from or go out and buy them (Borrow first, buy later when I have a bit more money. I'll ask for a few of them for Christmas.)
My mother and father already took me Christmas shopping, and I went against the very fiber of my being by going into such ungodly preppy stores as Body Shop, Buckle, the Gap, and American Eagle, among others I'm surely forgetting. Plus Claire's. *shudder* Got a few things which I will report in more detail later.
The 'rents bought a new Christmas tree. However, we all went soft and forgot that we never did give away our old tree, so now we have our old, lopsided little Charlie Brown tree and this new one that has, get this, the lights already on it. We're putting our own lights on it too, of course, we aren't THAT lazy, but to still have my old beloved tree in my possession is very comforting indeed. I'm just glad we HAVE a Christmas tree, I was afraid we wouldn't for a little while there.
Off to go find some ASOUE-related things to obsess over, if you don't mind, because I'd like to jump on the just-because-it's-cool-bandwagon and add it to my list of obsessions. In the mean time, I'll put PoA on in the background. Happy happy happy.
